Within the DFG Research Group FOR6051 (https://uni-freiburg.de/for6051/) we have an opening for fully funded 4-year PhD position in cardiovascular poteomics starting from July 1st, 2026 in Göttingen, Germany. You will contribute to a research project at the intersection of myocardial infarction (MI) and ageing. Here, you will employ advanced mass spectrometry (MS)–based proteomics to systematically characterize immune cell-specific proteomes in cells, tissues and liquid biopsies. By integrating these datasets with complementary functional and biophysical analyses in close collaboration with a second PhD project, this work aims to uncover key molecular effectors and EV-mediated signalling pathways underlying immune-driven cardiac remodelling following MI.
Requirements
High motivation to work on a state-of-the-art research topic in a highly dynamic and interdisciplinary environment
Solid theoretical background and firsthand experience in protein biochemistry, instrumental analytics (preferably proteomics mass spectrometry) and statistical analysis
Excellent MSc in a field relevant for the proposed study
English language proficiency at level B2 or higher
